Extremely rare and collectible. The holy grail of Vox's wah pedals. Tropical fish capacitors, halo inductor, Ducati Bipolare capacitor. Metal can BC109 transistors. Estimated to be from 1967-1969 based on the internals. Comes with mustard yellow bag (exact year of production unknown).
To some, the wah-wah pedal is little more than a gimmick; but in the emerging musical scenes of the late 1960s and early 1970s (primarily psychedelia, progressive rock and funk), the wah-wah pedal was a crucial bit of kit! And Vox lead the way, producing the first wah-wahs in 1967. They were quickly used on some of the best recordings of that year (think Cream's 'Tales of Brave Ulyses' and Hendrix's 'Burning of the Midnight Lamp') and have been wicky-wackying ever since.
From the original 60s ad:
A revolutionary new idea from Vox. The incredible new Wah-Wah pedal. Plugs into any guitar. Any amp. Lets you make wild new sounds. Play groovier guitar. Gutsier lead. Meaner rhythm. Tougher blues. Even sound like a sitar! And create hundreds of other unheard-of new effects. Only Vox could make it. Only Vox dealers have it. The amazing new Wah-Wah pedal. Try it. Take the trip.
