To some, the wah-wah pedal is little more than a gimmick; but in the emerging musical scenes of the late 1960s and early 1970s (primarily psychedelia, progressive rock and funk), the wah-wah pedal was a crucial bit of kit! They were quickly used on some of the best recordings of that year (think Cream's 'Tales of Brave Ulyses' and Hendrix's 'Burning of the Midnight Lamp') and have been wicky-wackying ever since.
