The MXR Phase 90 EVH Script Phaser combines the unmistakable swirling character of the classic Phase 90 with a versatile two-voice design developed in collaboration with Eddie Van Halen. Its warm, fluid modulation adds movement and depth to clean chords, distorted rhythm parts, and lead guitar sounds without requiring complex controls.
A single Speed knob adjusts the modulation rate from slow, spacious sweeps to fast, pulsing rotary-style textures. The Script switch changes the pedal’s response between the smoother, more subtle character associated with the early Script Logo Phase 90 and the stronger, more pronounced sound of the later Block Logo circuit. This makes the pedal suitable for vintage phasing, expressive lead tones, and more prominent rhythmic modulation.
The enclosure features the distinctive red, white, and black striped design associated with Eddie Van Halen’s famous guitar. Serial number AB67V767 identifies this individual example.
