The Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer Reissue is a modern recreation of one of the most influential overdrive pedals ever produced. Known for its smooth midrange boost, soft clipping character, and dynamic touch response, the TS9 has remained a staple for blues, rock, fusion, and metal players for decades.
This particular version features the sought-after TA7558P operational amplifier chip, known for delivering the warm, compressed response associated with many early Tube Screamer circuits. The pedal produces a smooth and articulate overdrive that enhances sustain while maintaining note definition and pick attack. At lower gain settings it works exceptionally well as a clean boost with added midrange focus, while higher settings provide singing lead tones and tight rhythm overdrive.
