The Line 6 Crunchtone Overdrive is a versatile overdrive pedal from the ToneCore series, designed to deliver a wide range of classic and modern drive sounds with clarity and punch. Built around Line 6’s analogue-inspired drive modelling, the Crunchtone covers everything from light edge-of-breakup tones to saturated rock and hard rock distortion, making it suitable for rhythm and lead applications alike.
The control layout consists of Drive, Bass, Mid, Treble, and Level controls, allowing detailed tone shaping and easy adaptation to different amplifiers and guitars. A dedicated voicing switch lets you choose between different overdrive characters, ranging from smoother, vintage-style crunch to tighter, more aggressive gain structures. This makes the Crunchtone particularly flexible for players who need multiple drive flavours in a single pedal.
This unit is mounted in the Line 6 Monodock, providing a rugged metal enclosure with standard footswitch operation and I/O, while allowing the Crunchtone module to be swapped with other ToneCore modules if desired. Originally part of Line 6’s innovative modular pedal concept, the Crunchtone remains appreciated for its tonal range, reliability, and practical control set.
