This Boss GEB-7 Bass Equalizer is a Silver Label, Made in Taiwan example with serial number DP02374, enhanced with a set of carefully chosen studio-oriented modifications. The GEB-7 is a seven-band equalizer voiced specifically for bass, with a frequency range from 50 Hz up to 10 kHz and a Level control that lets it work as both a tone-shaping tool and an overall boost or cut pedal. Its sliders cover 50 Hz, 120 Hz, 400 Hz, 500 Hz, 800 Hz, 4.5 kHz, and 10 kHz, making it highly effective for tightening low end, cleaning up muddy mids, adding attack, or refining slap, fingerstyle, fretless, and upright bass tones with pickups.
On this particular pedal, the power-supply filtering has been modified to make the circuit less sensitive to variations in the incoming power. In addition, all capacitors in the signal path and bypass circuit have been replaced with higher-grade components, in some cases with adjusted capacitance values, with the goal of improving transparency and overall signal clarity. The original ICs have also been replaced with a quieter and slightly more dynamic alternative, and the standard 9-volt modification has been applied.
