The Shin-ei ER-23 Echo Reverb Master is a rare vintage Japanese spring reverb unit from the 1970s, prized for its distinctive analog ambience and unmistakable retro character. Unlike modern digital reverbs, the ER-23 delivers an organic, slightly gritty sound with the natural imperfections that make vintage spring reverbs so appealing. It excels at adding depth to clean guitar tones while also complementing fuzz, garage rock, surf, psychedelic, and lo-fi recordings with its unique atmospheric response.

The unit features a compact tabletop design with separate input channels, independent volume controls, and a master echo/reverb control that allows anything from subtle room ambience to deep, cavernous spring reverb. Its analog circuitry and real spring tank produce a lively, dynamic response that reacts naturally to playing dynamics and instrument input levels. Some players also appreciate the slightly driven character available through the microphone inputs, adding an extra layer of vintage personality.

As an amateur, fitting in the Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive is complicated. With the POD 2.0 alone there are so many variables, and more so with the SD-1. To play along with Tool's 'Pneuma' took me 10 minutes to arrive at the right sounds, sort of. The SD-1 is a less powerful apparatus than I expected, but in time we will be friends I guess.

Mooie wah/fuzz , klinkt meer dan prima . Het enige nadeel is dat je de fuzz niet apart kunt gebruiken en de volgorde wah/fuzz of fuzz/wah niet kunt omschakelen . Is voor de rest ook geen probleem , maar het was mooi geweest als het kon .
