The Boss CH-1 Super Chorus is a well-known modulation pedal valued for its clear, spacious chorus sound and precise control over modulation depth and speed. The analog circuit design provides smooth modulation that adds width, dimension and subtle movement to both clean and driven guitar tones, making it suitable for a wide range of musical styles from subtle enhancement to more pronounced spatial textures.

This particular unit has been carefully modified to improve stability, transparency and overall controllability. The power supply filtering has been upgraded to make the pedal less sensitive to fluctuations in the incoming voltage, resulting in a quieter and more consistent performance. All capacitors in the signal path and bypass circuit have been replaced with high-quality components with equal or increased capacitance values, contributing to a more transparent signal reproduction and a broader frequency response.

The IC responsible for signal amplification has been replaced with a higher-grade component, reducing noise and improving clarity across the full modulation range. The LFO section has also been refined to allow more precise control over modulation behaviour, enabling more accurate adjustment of the chorus effect.

For improved visual feedback during performance, the LED now flashes according to the Rate setting while the pedal is in bypass. When the effect is activated, an additional blue LED illuminates, allowing players to clearly see the modulation speed setting on stage and ensuring easy visual reference in live environments.

As a Made in Taiwan Blue Label example, this CH-1 offers the familiar Boss compact construction combined with studio-oriented modifications that enhance clarity, usability and control while maintaining the recognizable Super Chorus character.

As an amateur, fitting in the Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive is complicated. With the POD 2.0 alone there are so many variables, and more so with the SD-1. To play along with Tool's 'Pneuma' took me 10 minutes to arrive at the right sounds, sort of. The SD-1 is a less powerful apparatus than I expected, but in time we will be friends I guess.

Ik wilde een Fuzz pedaal waar je clean en Fuzz goed kon blenden en waar dat goed reageert op een beetje push van een overdrive. Voor mijn bluesbandje wil ik wat meer keuze aan sounds hebben. Mooie wah/fuzz , klinkt meer dan prima . Het enige nadeel is dat je de fuzz niet apart kunt gebruiken en de volgorde wah/fuzz of fuzz/wah niet kunt omschakelen . Is voor de rest ook geen probleem , maar het was mooi geweest als het kon .
