The Boss OS-2 Overdrive Distortion is a versatile analog gain pedal that combines the characteristics of both overdrive and distortion in a single compact unit. With its Level, Tone, Drive and Color controls, the OS-2 allows players to blend smoothly between warm, dynamic overdrive and more aggressive, saturated distortion textures. The unique Color control adjusts the balance between the two gain structures, making the pedal suitable for a wide range of musical styles and playing techniques.

This particular unit has been carefully modified to improve transparency, reduce noise and enhance overall tonal control. All capacitors in the signal path and bypass circuit have been replaced with high-quality components, in some cases with adjusted capacitance values, resulting in a more open frequency response and improved signal clarity across the spectrum.

The clipping section has been refined using an alternative diode configuration combined with LEDs, providing a more controlled distortion character with improved harmonic detail and smoother dynamic response. Both ICs in the circuit have been replaced with lower-noise types, contributing to reduced background noise and more precise control behaviour throughout the gain range.

As a Silver Label Made in Taiwan example, this unit represents a reliable and well-built version of the OS-2, housed in the familiar Boss compact enclosure. The modifications result in a more transparent and balanced response while preserving the flexible character that makes the OS-2 a practical solution for players who require both overdrive and distortion in a single pedal.

As an amateur, fitting in the Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive is complicated. With the POD 2.0 alone there are so many variables, and more so with the SD-1. To play along with Tool's 'Pneuma' took me 10 minutes to arrive at the right sounds, sort of. The SD-1 is a less powerful apparatus than I expected, but in time we will be friends I guess.

Ik wilde een Fuzz pedaal waar je clean en Fuzz goed kon blenden en waar dat goed reageert op een beetje push van een overdrive. Voor mijn bluesbandje wil ik wat meer keuze aan sounds hebben. Helemaal te gek deze Mythos. Besteld en twee dagen later in huis zodat ik een beetje kon jammen….top service!

Mooie wah/fuzz , klinkt meer dan prima . Het enige nadeel is dat je de fuzz niet apart kunt gebruiken en de volgorde wah/fuzz of fuzz/wah niet kunt omschakelen . Is voor de rest ook geen probleem , maar het was mooi geweest als het kon .
